Getting to know Evi
My name is Evi Halkia. I was born in Boston, USA and lived there for several years until I settled with my family permanently in Greece. I started my studies at the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. However, I did not complete my studies there, because along the way I realized that this was not my path.
I worked as a journalist but still came to the same conclusion. Journalism did not cover a large part of my inner pursuits. So I continued the search. I have attended orthophony and vocal classes at the National Conservatory, classical and contemporary music.
Of course, my love for music began in my childhood with constant participation in all school choirs!
You never know what out of everything you’ve done in your life might turn out to be more useful than ever! I include in my lessons recitation of Mantras (sounds that create coordinated sound waves in the mind) through kirtan (yogic singing).
I have been practicing yoga for many years. Sports, of course, entered my life from the age of 6 when I started gymnastics with many participations in National and European competitions.

I have traveled a lot to Greece and to foreign countries participating in yoga retreats with foreign and Greek instructors. I have traveled a lot. The trips I have made since I was a child in the world have been a large part of my intellectual property. It’s a piece of advice I always give. Travel whenever and wherever you can!
I teach in yoga centers in group classes as well as personal practices in Greek and English in Greece and abroad. I am certified advanced hatha yoga teacher training and registered yoga teacher in alliance USA and yoga alliance International India
& I.Y.T.A (International Yoga Teachers Association) Hatha yoga full instructor certificate.
